Indian Creek Trail #800 Clockwise
Chosen Trail
At the far end of the equestrian campsites is another start of the Indian Creek Trail #800. It goes downhill to Bear Creek for a mile each way for a total of two miles. We rode this in about 20 minutes. This makes for a very pleasant, short, easy ride if you just want a short out and back. If you want to keep going you can continue on to the Colorado Trail, go to Waterton Canyon or just do the 14 mile Indian Creek Loop.
Trail Experience
We started off on the Indian Creek #800 Trail at the far end of the equestrian camping loop. It headed downhill through the forest. We watched several bikes tear down this trail before we started. We did not run into any bikers but I hope they would see us and be able to stop.
The trail was a narrow single-track but really pretty.
The forest was dense in spots but the trail was easy to navigate.
We headed down to Bear Creek to play in the water then turned around to head back to camp.
On another occasion we continued past the creek for another 20 minutes.
This ride during August showed another dry creek bed. We took pictures and turned around to head back to camp.
It was a pretty steep constant uphill ride back to camp. Our horses got a pretty good work-out from this short ride.
