Trailer Parking
There were two spots for trailers with the 3rd lane as a designated pull-through. If I pulled up more Maureen may have fit behind me. More than 2 trailers you could park behind each other if you were riding together.

Mounting
There were some good rocks to stand on.
Footing
This is a moderately rocky trail. It is mostly loose rocks and gravel, no sheets of rocks to walk over. You definitely need all 4 shoes and pads for this trail.
Horse Hazards
We saw some hikers and bikers but the trail was wide for the majority of the trail and there was plenty of room to pass. I would watch for rattle-snakes. The hardest part of the trail was the steady incline and the rocky trail. I would bring fly protective gear. We rode in mid-May and the bugs were pretty bad.
Chosen Trail
We did a pretty simple out and back with lots of breaks to catch our breath going up the steady incline. We rode 4 miles in 1 hr and 40 minutes with lots of grass and chatting breaks. You could ride this trail faster if you trotted uphill. You would need a really fit, shod horse to ride the long uphill of the trail.
Trail Experience
We headed west through the entry gate and started uphill.
The trail was moderately rocky but wide.
We kept right to stay on the trail. There were several side-roads that went to private houses but the trail was well-marked.
We stayed left at the next fork and headed up into the hills.
Again the trail was well-marked. We kept left to go up-hill more.
The trail was moderately rocky and a good work-out going up. There was a beautiful horse pasture on our right.
Sam is amazing and would have trotted up this hill. We took several breaks to get our breath back.
This section was a little rockier. We kept climbing.
We stopped on the left in a beautiful meadow at the top of the climb, took a break and ate some grass.
After our break we headed down a steeper downhill section that was also moderately rocky.
It wove through the pine trees. We stayed left to stay on the trail.
Some hikers told us it was pretty rocky for a stretch then the trail ended by the road.
This is the end of the trail. We came upon Old Stage Road, enjoyed some grass and turned around. This was a shorter trail but ok with us since our horses worked really hard climbing the hill.
We headed back uphill through the pine trees.
We had some really pretty views on the way back.
Rating
Moderate. If you have a fit horse that is shod and likes to go, this is the perfect fall, winter, or early spring trail. If you normally worry about holding back your horse, take them here and let them trot until they are tired. Sam didn't mind the rocks at all and could have trotted if I was up for it. The rocks and the uphill make this trail not an easy trail but one that is still enjoyable.
