You can use the picnic table, I mounted from my trailer. If you don't have a walker with you wait to get on until you go through the first gate.

Horse Hazards |
Wonderful! Wide gravel road.

Probably 4-5 gates, some cows and at least one bridge. Several stationary objects that may be scary to some horses.

Chosen Trail
We rode the East Boulder Teller Farm trail as an out and back at night during a full moon. We rode 4.6 miles in the dark in about 1.5 hours at a walk with a hiker along to open gates. I went back a few days later and rode it in the daylight with Sam and Bailey. The cows were gone and all but one of the gates were wide open. With only one gate and two horses we trotted this trail in about 40 minutes.
Riding in the dark was pretty awesome! We had a group of 7 riders and a walker to open gates and it was a really beautiful and crisp October evening.
South Teller Farm During the Day
I went back during the day a few days later to give you a better trail guide. We opened the gate by the trail-head to begin our trail. I found a good stump to use to mount.
Really nice soft grassy trail.
Scary stationary object on the right. We did not see this when we rode at night. Some dead tree limbs on the left.
I was very happy this gate was open!!
We rode by some bushes on the right. There were birds flying in and out and this could spook some horses. Sam and Bailey were too busy diving for grass.
This is the 2nd gate I had to open, luckily the biker left it open for me. I had a hard time closing it, I left it open for the walkers behind me.
Great to trot along this trail.

2nd bridge to cross.

Really pretty views once you turn to face west towards Boulder.
We stopped before going through this last gate. In the picture to the right you can see where the trail ahead crosses Valmont street.
On another day we rode past this gate an all the way to Valmont to continue on the North Teller Trail. This is a great trail in the winter after a snow. The footing was still pretty dry and the mountains were beautiful covered in snow. In the winter when there are no cows out the city keeps all the gates open.
Trail Experience
I rode this trail with the Buffalo Bills Saddle Club for our full-moon night ride. Sam and I had a wonderful time. We had a walker with us opening gates. It is an out and back so some horses get antsy on the way home. Riding it during the day we mostly trotted out and walked back. I had plenty of room to pony Bailey and the footing was really nice and soft. Bonus that the gates were open and the cows had been moved!
Rating
Moderately Easy. Great trail if you have help switching off to get gates and your horse doesn't mind cows. Good trail to trot or canter.
